A working meeting was held today in Mostar as part of the project to develop a cycling route connecting Sarajevo, Mostar, and Dubrovnik – three cities rich in cultural, historical, and tourist attractions. The host of the meeting was Toni Zorić, President of the HerzegovinaBike Association, and the meeting was attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH and the Center for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD).
The project, which has entered its key phase, is about to proceed with the selection of contractors, followed by the actual implementation of works on the ground. In addition to being a significant step towards connecting the region through sustainable and green modes of transport, the project will culminate in the organization of a promotional event and a press conference.

It is particularly important to highlight that the Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has recognized the value of this project and has actively joined and supported this important initiative. The Sarajevo – Mostar – Dubrovnik cycling route not only connects the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the UNESCO-listed city of Dubrovnik, but also opens new opportunities for the development of outdoor tourism in the region.
During the meeting, key steps to be implemented in the coming days were agreed upon, including the launch of the project’s second phase. This phase will include the creation of a unique website for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will integrate all cycling and hiking routes across the country. The website will be modeled after the Belgian example, which the BiH team studied during their visit to Belgium, learning from their successful practices. The goal is to create a central online platform offering comprehensive outdoor tourism information for Bosnia and Herzegovina..

Toni Zorić, President of the HerzegovinaBike Association, stated:
“This is an extensive project that will require the involvement of all cycling clubs and hiking associations in order to create some of the best cycling and hiking trails that our country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, has to offer. I believe this is a major step forward for outdoor tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina and something that was truly needed – a central website featuring the complete offer and all the information tourists need for a pleasant stay and exploration of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
The HerzegovinaBike Association continues its mission of developing active tourism and positioning Bosnia and Herzegovina as a recognizable outdoor destination in the region and Europe.
