Association for the promotion of cycling "Herzegovina Bike" has launched an ambitious project to create a network of bicycle paths throughout Herzegovina, guided by its fundamental goals – the popularization of cycling as a sport and a tool for connecting the region's tourism potential. This project not only promotes sports and recreational cycling, but also opens the door to the development of cyclotourism as a unique form of sustainable tourism.
Herzegovina is one of the most beautiful regions in this part of Europe. With its authentic spirit and diverse landscape, it is both mountainous and lowland, coastal and continental. In a relatively small area, a wealth of relief forms, diverse flora and fauna, and unique historical and cultural monuments meet. It is precisely these attributes that make Herzegovina an ideal destination for branding as a cyclotourism region, with the aim of expanding the tourist season and better utilization of resources throughout the year.
The Bicycle Network Project of Herzegovina includes the mapping, marking, signaling and promotion of the most attractive cycling routes that connect the key tourist destinations of the region. In addition to the physical marking of the routes, the project also envisages a digital presentation via our website, which can rightly be considered one of the most comprehensive cycling platforms in the country.
On our website users can find:
The site is available in English, and there are plans to expand it to German, French, and Italian, further opening the door to international visitors.
The HerzegovinaBike project is fully aligned with the policy European Union in the context of developing sustainable tourism, in line with the Lisbon Strategy. Cycling tourism is recognized as a tool for improving the quality of life in a sustainable way, both for current and future generations.
We invite you to join us on this journey through the natural beauty and cultural wealth of Herzegovina, and together with us contribute to the development of cycle tourism as a strong foundation for sustainable tourism in the region.
