Located in the heart of the Blidinje Nature Park on the slopes of Mount Čvrsnica, the Franciscan House of Prayer in Masna Luka is an oasis of peace located at 1,204 meters above sea level. It is the fruit of the centuries-old love and care of the friars of the Franciscan Province of Herzegovina for these areas and the people who live in them. In the past, they were shepherds with their flocks, and in recent decades, they are the most common people who come to the mountains to rest their bodies and find their souls.
In 1982, Friar Petar Krasić started the construction of the so-called stable house which was supposed to serve for the stay of friars on service in the Chapel of St. Ilije - Polje, but also for the occasional stay of those brothers who retire for their annual spiritual exercises. Over time, Friar Petar built the beautiful church of St. ilije with a unique bell tower (2005) and a house (2015) that welcomes those who need spiritual refreshment. The entire complex is a harmonious whole, which with its architecture has perfectly and unobtrusively blended into the natural environment.

Chaplaincy of St. Ilije - Polja covers a wide mountainous area between the municipalities of Tomislavgrad, Posušje, Široki Brijeg, Jablanica and Rama. The central part of Polje is Blidinjsko lake between the mountains Čvrsnica and Vran. There used to be hundreds of families in this area who brought their livestock to graze during the summer. So we know that around 1935, 642 families lived in these areas. Chaplain Polje pastorally took care of them during grazing. Now, tourism is the main reason for people to come and stay in the mountains, although there are also a few families engaged in animal husbandry.
Currently, the chaplain of Polja is fra Josip Vlašić.
In addition to the regular Sunday mass in Masna Luka, which is at 10 a.m., except on the day of Diva Grabovčeva, when the mass is at 8 a.m., chaplain Polja celebrates masses in the church of Our Lady of Snow in Barzonja and in the mountain cemeteries. In 2024, the masses are in this order:

Masna Luka
In Masna Luka, in the church of St. Holy Mass of Elijah is on Sundays at 10 o'clock.
On Diva's Day (the first Sunday after St. Peter's Day, i.e. June 30), mass is at 8 a.m., and on Kedžara at Diva's grave at 11 a.m.
On Ilindan, mass is at 12 noon.
On Our Lady of Snow (August 5) and Our Lady (August 15), mass is held only at Barzonja at 12 noon.

Masna Luka, located at the foot of Čvrsnica, is one of the most beautiful places in the Blidinje Nature Park. With the beautiful Church of St. Elijah, which fits perfectly into the natural environment, this area abounds in pine and fir forests and sources of drinking water, among which the most famous spring is Jasle. As the largest European habitat of the endemic munika pine, Masna Luka is an ideal place for rest and complete surrender to nature, and visitors can also visit the Franciscan gallery with rich works of art.
