Sunday; 04/07/2024 was dedicated to cycling, outdoor activities for the whole family and promotion of the Ćiro cycling trail, as well as cycle tourism offers in Herzegovina, on the section from Zavala to Trebinje. The organizers of the Ćiro bicycle race that took place on Sunday were the Bicycle Club "Wolf Tooth" from Trebinje and the association Herzegovina Bike, and the event brought together about a hundred cyclists from the countries of the region, with the aim of spending the weekend outdoors and promoting the cycling tourism offer of Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically Ćiro bicycle path.
The start of the cycling event was in front of the Zavala inn in Zavala, where all participants had a free snack before the start of cycling, and the participants were also provided with a free visit to the Windmill Cave.
On the 45 km long section, the participants cycled along the beautiful Popovo polje, visited the old Ćiro stations, especially the one in the town of Hum, which is also the largest, and on which there was a turnoff to Trebinje and onward to Montenegro or to Dubrovnik in the Republic of Croatia.
Our cycling tour left for Trebinje, a beautiful small town in the south of Herzegovina that always delights us with its beauty, and after taking pictures in front of the Ćiro train, the hosts provided for all participants of the event a tasting of local products in the Herzegovina house, a tour of the Old Town of Trebinje with a coffee among the walls of the old city in the Herzegovinian sun.
As we announced in the title, after Trebinje already this weekend we are expecting the Ćiro bicycle race on the Donica from Mostar to Čapljina, i.e. the promotion of the first part of the Ćiro railway that takes us past the Old Bridge, visiting Blagaj, and further past the Žitomislići monastery to Čapljina and the old town The patron.
All participants will be accompanied by a van with refreshments, quick service and first aid, and after the visit to Počitelj, lunch will be provided for all participants in the Storia restaurant, which is also a VIP member of the HerzegovinaBike association. Therefore, the organizers hereby ask all those interested in participating to register via the link: so that we can have the exact number of participants and provide meals for all those who plan to come.
The start of the cycling event is in Sunday; April 14, 2024 in front of the Croatian Home Herceg Stjepan Kosača (Rondo), and a police escort is provided on the section from Mostar to Blagaj and further through Kosor to Buna when we will cross the Bunska canals and cycle on the right side of the Neretva through Baćeviće on a non-traffic section.
