As part of the project "Establishment of the Network for Rural Development of Herzegovina – HeRuDNet," funded by the European Union through the EU4CS program, a three-day strategic planning training was held in Neum with the goal of strengthening the capacities of organizations involved in rural development.
As an active member and participant in the Network for Rural Development of Herzegovina, the HerzegovinaBike association recognizes the importance of joint action in improving and empowering rural areas of Herzegovina. During the training, representatives of the association participated in the development of strategic guidelines and action plans that will contribute to the sustainable development of the region and better connectivity among all relevant stakeholders.

Through a series of interactive workshops and panel discussions, participants analyzed existing challenges in rural development, explored funding opportunities through European and domestic funds, and developed concrete proposals for improving infrastructure, tourism, and local entrepreneurship.

A special emphasis was placed on linking rural development and cycle tourism, which are key elements for the sustainability of local communities. Through its projects, HerzegovinaBike continuously works on promoting Herzegovina as an attractive destination for active tourism, and this training provides an additional opportunity for the exchange of experiences, the creation of new ideas, and the planning of future activities that will contribute to the development of the tourism offer in rural areas.

As representatives of cycling and key stakeholders in the development of cycle tourism Stanislava Borovac, a representative of HerzegovinaBike, and Petar Spaić, a representative of the cycling club “Vučji Zub” from Trebinje, participated in the training.
The HerzegovinaBike association will continue to actively participate in the work of the Network for Rural Development of Herzegovina, contributing to the creation of concrete solutions for sustainable development, the improvement of cycle tourism infrastructure, and increasing the visibility of Herzegovina on the European map of sustainable tourism.

The further activities of the HerzegovinaBike association and its partner organizations will be crucial for the continued development of cycle tourism in Herzegovina, making the region a recognized destination for cyclists from all over the world. It is important to note that the Tourist Board of HNŽ/K, the Tourist Board of the City of Mostar, as well as companies like Continental Tires, HT Eronet and Škoda Apolo are key partners of the HerzegovinaBike Association in advancing active and sustainable tourism and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
