Mostar, September 4, 2024. – This weekend, more precisely on Saturday 07/09/2024, Mostar will host the international cycling event "Hercegovina Classic", which is scored for the State Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina and represents an important event on the international cycling scene. The race is organized by the HerzegovinaBike Association and the Mostar Bicycling Club in cooperation with the Bicycling Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the City of Mostar is the host.
Herzegovina Classic is not only a national competition but also an international event that attracts top cyclists from the entire region. This race offers an opportunity for the best road cyclists of Bosnia and Herzegovina to compete for valuable UCI points, which are crucial for the qualification standards for the Olympic Games. Therefore, in addition to domestic cyclists having a chance to win the title of national champion, global athletes will fight for prestigious points and international recognition.
“I am happy that the City of Mostar and Herzegovina will once again gather a large number of athletes and that we will once again present our country as a cycling destination. Already on Friday, we expect the arrival of the first athletes so that they can train on our roads in order to fight for the title of National Champion for 2024. I must emphasize that the time trial race will decide the National Champion in the time trial, and he will receive valuable UCI points, but also wear the jersey of the National Champion with the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he will wear in UCI races"", commented Toni Zorićpresident of the HerzegovinaBike association.
The city of Mostar, known for its rich cultural heritage and spectacular landscapes, will provide the ideal backdrop for this exciting sporting event. Participants will have the opportunity to compete on challenging courses that promise a dynamic and exciting race. It is important to say that after this event, the Assembly of the Cycling Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held in the Visitor Center of Buna, which once again confirms that the City of Mostar has all the capacities for top sports.
The organizers, the HerzegovinaBike Association and the Mostar Cycling Club, together with the Bicycling Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, invested significant efforts in the preparation of this event, in order to ensure a high standard of the race and an unrepeatable experience for all participants and spectators.
