The Office for European Integration of West Herzegovina Canton, in collaboration with the HerzegovinaBike Association and the Herzegovina Tourism Cluster, is organizing a panel discussion on sustainable tourism. The forum will take place within the 26th International Economic Fair – Tourism Fair in Mostar, on April 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM (Hall No. 3)..
The forum is organized as a „product club meeting“ within the project „RomanWinesDanube“, implemented by the Office for European Integration of West Herzegovina Canton and funded through the program INTERREG DANUBE 2021-2027. The goal of this event is to integrate cycling tourism as a key part of Herzegovina’s sustainable tourism offer. The panel will bring together key stakeholders – local communities, travel agencies, wine producers, and representatives of the public sector – to develop thematic cycling routes that connect wine regions, cultural landmarks, natural beauty, and the Roman heritage of Herzegovina.
With the upcoming start of the cycling season, the forum will serve as a platform for exchanging experiences, presenting new ideas, and defining future directions for the development of cycling tourism in the region. This form of tourism is recognized as an environmentally sustainable and economically viable model that can enrich Herzegovina’s tourism offer and attract a larger number of visitors.
Panel Discussion Participants
The panel discussion will be opened by Toni Zorić, president of the HerzegovinaBike Association, who will welcome all attendees and present cycling tourism in Herzegovina. He will emphasize the importance of developing cycling infrastructure, networking local communities, and promoting Herzegovina as an attractive destination for cycling tourists. After the opening remarks, Zorić will hand over the discussion to other participants, who will share their experiences, challenges, and visions for the development of cycling tourism in the region.
The forum will bring together prominent experts and institutional representatives, who will share their perspectives on the development of cycling tourism through the panel discussion:

- Emil Balavac, Minister of Tourism of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton
- Representative of the Tourist Board of the Republic of Croatia
- Stjepan Primorac, Hotel Bigeste Ljubuški
- Izet Rađo, President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Vladimir Miholjević, organizer of CRO Race (Tour of Croatia)
- Jelle Scherpereel, Belgian cyclist living off cycling tourism in BiH
The forum will also serve as a venue for initiating new projects and establishing collaborations among all relevant stakeholders in the tourism sector.
