The HerzegovinaBike Association has once again gathered cycling clubs from all over Herzegovina, as many as 18 of them, to summarize the results of the first half of 2024, align goals and discuss plans until the end of the season. Cyclotourism, as one of the fastest growing branches of tourism, attracts more and more cyclotourists from all over the world, which motivates Herzegovina's cycling clubs to network and share common goals in order to present their country as a top tourist destination.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the upcoming Continental Blidinje BIKE Festival, the largest cycling festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which this year will attract guests from 20 countries around the world. The festival will be the next gathering place for all clubs, where they will jointly present the Blidinje Nature Park and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country of sports, cultural destinations, top gastronomy and natural beauty. In short, a country that deserves attention and offers a lot, and deserves a longer stay.
At the end of the meeting, new plans for working with younger generations were determined, in order to attract as many children and young people as possible to this sport. In this way, future generations would continue to develop the mission and goals started by their older colleagues.
"This uniqueness, cohesion and networking of clubs is a great thing. Gathering such a large number of clubs from Herzegovina, which are united in their goals and mission, is no small matter, and this will certainly yield great results. It is important to note that with us are also colleagues from the Metković and Imotski Cycling Clubs from neighboring Croatia, with whom we have excellent cooperation. In the future, we are planning big projects that we will realize together, which will certainly contribute to the improvement of tourism and sports in our country", said Toni Zorić, president of the HerzegovinaBike Association.
"We are also planning additional training for cycle tour guides, because we have a great need for them, and better cooperation with travel agencies, both domestic and foreign. Our goal is to provide better living conditions and additional jobs in tourism, so that our people can find additional income and jobs that will enable them to stay in the country and not leave Bosnia and Herzegovina because of better conditions. I really believe that life here can be better and it is better than life in a foreign country, a country where you are far from your home and hometown. We see cyclotourism as a branch of activity that can greatly contribute to better conditions and better development of our country in the direction of tourism, because we are a tourist destination. We are attracting an increasing number of tourists, we just have to organize ourselves better, use all our possibilities and potentials and we can certainly do great things", Zorić added.
The Continental Blidinje BIKE Festival is the next big event in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will take place from July 12 to 14, 2024, and Herzegovinian cyclists hereby invite all interested parties to visit Blidinje and check out what they have organized to present themselves as a top destination. . Exhibition fairs, recreational cycling events, educational workshops, an entertainment program and professional races of the Balkan Championship and the UCI Class 1 XCM Marathon are only part of the rich program.
