Herzegovina is increasingly securing its place on the global cycling map! After the Blidinje BIKE Festival earned its status as a prestigious international cycling race under the auspices of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), we are proud to announce that Herzegovina will have two UCI races in the official calendar for 2025!
One of them is XCO GradinaXCO Gradina, whose inaugural edition last year, organized by the Čapljina Cycling Club, showcased exceptional potential. Thanks to outstanding organization and the enthusiasm of the cycling community, this race has now been officially recognized on the world MTB scene and included in the UCI calendar for 2025. This significant achievement confirms that Herzegovina is becoming an unmissable destination for mountain biking enthusiasts and professional competitors alike.
Races of this caliber not only bring sporting prestige but also hold broader social and economic significance. They attract cyclists and recreational riders from around the world, contribute to the development of local infrastructure, increase Herzegovina’s visibility in the global cycling community, and positively impact tourism by boosting visitor numbers, increasing demand for accommodations, and enhancing the hospitality sector.
Toni Zorić, president of the HerzegovinaBike Association, emphasized the importance of this milestone:
