On Sunday, September 7, 2024, Mostar hosted the State Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina in individual time trial – Herzegovina Classic ITT. This prestigious sports event, organized in cooperation with the HerzegovinaBike Association, the Mostar Cycling Club and the Bicycling Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attracted numerous professional cyclists.
Herzegovina Classic ITT, already recognized as one of the most important cycling events, once again showed that Herzegovina has perfect conditions for top cycling. This year, the time trial route led through the picturesque landscapes of Herzegovina, offering competitors a challenging but spectacular route.
“Since 2014, we have been trying to promote Herzegovina through professional road cycling, and the Herzegovina Classic event is slowly but surely putting our country and the City of Mostar on the cycling map. Excellent trails, top organizations and natural beauty are what adorn us and attract an increasing number of athletes every year. We are proud of today's organization, and I would like to congratulate all the winners and holders of the National Champion title," stated Toni Zorić, president of the Cycling Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina. "
He is especially happy that a large number of younger athletes participated in the race, which gives us hope and confirmation that this sport has a bright future. Seeing the young competitors fighting on the track with enthusiasm added to the richness of the whole event.
We highlight the holders of the National Champion title, who deservedly won this prestigious title with their performances. In the women's Elite category, she won the title Karla Kustura (BK X Factory), while in the men's Elite category he became the champion Husein Selimović (BK Tuzla).
Herzegovina Classic ITT confirmed its role as an important event in the cycling calendar of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and once again highlighted Mostar and Herzegovina as important points on the sports tourism map. The organizers are extremely proud of the success of the event, which not only promotes sports, but also the beauty of Herzegovina as a destination for active tourism.
