13th Friendship Cycling Caravan Mostar – Vukovar under the patronage of the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Lidija Bradara

The Association for the Promotion of Cycling “HerzegovinaBike,” in cooperation with the Sports Association of the City of Mostar and several cycling clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, proudly announces the 13th edition of the Friendship Cycling Caravan Mostar – Vukovar, which will take place from April 28 to May 2, 2025..

It is important to highlight that this year’s caravan is held under the high patronage of the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Lidija Bradara, who personally welcomed the caravan in Kiseljak last year and is now fulfilling her promise to provide even greater support to the project in 2025.

This is a positive story—a project that promotes healthy living, sports, reconciliation among people, connects communities, and honors our recent history and the people who gave so much for all of us today,” said Mrs.Lidija Bradara, president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Five Days, 500 Kilometers of Friendship, Sport, and Remembrance

This project, now in its thirteenth year, brings together cyclists from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia with the goal of paying tribute to the City of Vukovar and everything it symbolizes in the Homeland War.

This year’s caravanwill include 35 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, including four women, starting their journey on Monday, April 28, from Mostar. After cycling more than 500 kilometers, they aim to reach the Hero City – Vukovar, where they will take part in the commemoration in Borovo Selo on May 2, in memory of the 12 fallen Croatian police officers.

The route of the caravan remains true to its symbolic and friendly character, connecting Mostar – Kiseljak – Žepče – Orašje – Županju – Vukovar, with warm welcomes from all cities and municipalities along the way, all of which have confirmed their hospitality again this year.

Toni Zorić: Greater Interest Than Ever – Proud to See the Idea Growing

The President of the HerzegovinaBike Association, Toni Zorić, stated:

The interest in participating this year is higher than ever, which truly brings us joy. Due to logistical reasons, we again had to limit the number of participants to 35. We’re especially proud that many other cities have recognized the importance of the caravan and reached out to us with the desire to be included in future routes. This shows that the caravan goes beyond just sport and is evolving into a movement of connection and unity.

Reflecting on the patronage of the President of the Federation of BiH, Zorić added:

I’m especially pleased with the patronage of Mrs. Lidija Bradara, who welcomed us so warmly in Kiseljak last year and promised greater support in 2025. She has proven to be a woman of her word, and we proudly highlight that she is with us this year as an official patron. We sincerely thank her for recognizing the values we promote and for being part of this noble idea.”

Friends from Croatia Join the Ride to Vukovar

About ten cyclists from the Republic of Croatia, long-time friends of the project, will join the caravan in Mostar and ride the entire route to Vukovar.

Danijel Vincetić, President of BK Kotur from Županja, emphasized the importance of this initiative:

We’re proud to have been part of this project for 13 years now. It fosters friendship and cooperation between towns and people. This caravan means a lot to us—not just in a sporting sense, but also emotionally. Our hearts are full, and we eagerly await our arrival in Mostar, where we’ll reunite with friends and set off together toward the Hero City.”

The connection between Mostar and Vukovar is rebuilt and strengthened each year through this caravan, as well as through the participation of the towns and municipalities that host and support the cyclists. Mayors and municipal heads along the route continue to provide great support, confirming the continuity of unity and cooperation over all these years.

The organizing team is currently coordinating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, under whose jurisdiction the route passes, to ensure police escort and maximum road safety for the cyclists. The Ministry has been a key supporter of this project for many years, and the organizers would like to express their gratitude for their professionalism and care in ensuring the safety of all participants.

Through the years, this caravan has become more than just a sports event—it has become a symbol of remembrance, friendship, and hope.

The organizers thank all friends and sponsors of the Friendship Cycling Caravan Mostar – Vukovar for their continued support and commitment to fostering friendship between the towns and municipalities along the route. These include: Predsjednica Federacije BiH, gđa Lidija Bradara, Gradski odbor HDZ BiH Mostar, Škoda Apolo Mostar, Telemach BH d.o.o. Sarajevo, OIL-AC d.o.o. Mostar, Restoran konoba Goranci, Udruga HVIDRA, and of course the cities of Mostar, Županja, Vukovar and the municipalities of Kiseljak and Žepče.
